The city of Winterhaven was once an idillic bastion of light nestled in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains. White granite walls ringed the city and trees and shrubs lined the streets. Surrounded by forrest and farms, it seemed as if the city had spung from the mountains themselves, whole and beautiful.

Even after the white council recinded their aid to Aerim. The city of Winterhaven remained a midling sized bastion of good in these dark lands. Then came the tide. The hordes of darkness washed over Winterhaven en mass and though they fought valiantly, there was no stopping them.

The only reminants of this once great cities existance are the crumbling pieces of stonework which now litter these desolate foothills. Those who survived the war that stuck near about ten years past, did so by fleeing with their families into the mountains while the brave militia soldiers held their ground. Only a small fraction of the original population made it out alive.

After three years in the mountains and many more casualties, the people of Winterhaven returned from the mountains changed. Hardened, determined and famished. The tide of marauding monsters had passed and their opportunity to rebuild seemed to be at hand. Now five years hence, Winterhaven is slowly growing again.
